It’s always a bumpy ride residing in Nigeria but the citizens have found various ways to navigate these portholes. We have internet memes, movies, reality TV shows, football banters, celebrity gists and Afrobeats. Afrobeats is doing a good job of helping Nigerians forget about the hardship, singing and dancing while the house is burning.

The ‘Sabi girls’ anthem by the sabi queen herself Marvin artist Ayra Starr is a song that we all fell in love with this year. It created a trend that created a whole dressing look that copied the artist. It is a song to be reckoned with as it samples veteran Congolese musician, Awilo Longomba.

This is why it is not surprising that King Promise’s Terminator is one of the most played song in Nigeria this year, this might be because lyrics of the song resonates with Nigerians. Street HipHop sensation Seyi Vibez tells his story in this song. He talks about how he has come so far and that his songs are proof that music chose him, his songs aren’t mid and he is here to stay.

Another banger off Davido’s Timeless album is Feel. At the album’s initial release, the song’s dance challenge trended on all social media platforms.The artist recently dropped the video for the song.
Elon Musk
The perfect song for the Nigerian big boy. The song centres around the big boy lifestyle, cruise catching, partying and flexing. Sang by rising Afrobeats star Shallipopi.
City Boys
Grammy award winner Burna Boy this year released his album I Told Them , and City Boys is one of the songs off the album. The song’s intro by J-hus has to be what is pulling everybody to the song
