Early Life And Education

Born July 2nd 1991, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu known by his stage name Burna Boy is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and music producer. He grew up in Southern Nigeria with his parents and siblings. For his secondary school education, he attended Corona Secondary School in Agbara, Ogun state. After his relocation to London, he studied media technology at the University of Sussex and Media Communications and Culture at Oxford Brookes University, after which he returned to Nigeria.

Music Journey
Burna Boy’s music in his words is “Afro-fusion”, a blend of Afrobeat, Pop, R&B, Dancehall and Reggae. He kick-started his career in 2012 with the song “Like to Party” from his debut studio album L.I.F.E in 2013, other songs from the album include “Tonight”, “Always Love You”, “Run My Race” and “Yawa Dey”, the album also featured popular musicians. His second studio album SPACESHIP was released in November 2015 with its lead single “Pree Me”. His third album OUTSIDE was released in 2018, the album gathered for Burna Boy a lot of recognition,same year he performed at the London’s O2 Academy Brixton where he sold out. In 2019, Burna boy released his 4th studio album, AFRICAN  GIANT, which gave him the nickname “African Giant”. Almost every song on the album was a hit, we have “Gbona”, “On the low”, “Killin Dem”, “Dangote” and “Anybody”.
On 14th August 2020, TWICE AS TALL his fifth album was released, the album was nominated for Best Global Act at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards. In 2022, came his sixth studio album LOVE, DAMINI.
In 2023,he has released a single “Sitting On Top Of The World”, performed at a sold out football stadium of 80000 sitting capacity and he is also a headliner at the 2023 UEFA Champions League final kickoff show in Istanbul, Turkey.

Not much is known about Burna boy’s private life, however his relationship with British rapper Steffle Don is well known because his song “Last Last” was associated with their breakup a while back.
