Burna Boy: Achieving Another Milestone, Setting Yet Another Record.

In a significant achievement, Burna Boy has made history by being the African artist to achieve a sold-out show at the Mercedes Benz Arena in Berlin, Germany. On December 9, 2023, he filled the 17,000-seat venue as part of his ‘I Told Them’ world tour.

The arena joins a list of numerous historic venues where Burna Boy has achieved sold-out performances, solidifying his position as the pioneering African artist in this accomplishment.

Earlier this year, Burna Boy made history by headlining the first stadium concert for an African artist in the United Kingdom, selling out the London stadium. Additionally, he became the first African artist to sell out a stadium in the United States with a packed show at Citi Field stadium in New York.

In 2023, Burna Boy achieved considerable success by winning multiple awards. He secured the title of African Artiste of the Year at the Soundcity MVP Awards. At the All African Music Awards, he triumphed in two major categories, claiming both Artist of the Year and Album of the Year. The Headies recognized his excellence with awards for Best R&B Single, Afrobeat Single of the Year, and Song of the Year. Additionally, he emerged victorious at the BET Awards, securing the prestigious Best International Act Award.

Burna Boy secured four nominations on the 2024 Grammy Awards list. His popular track ‘City Boy’ received a nomination for Best African Music Performance, ‘Alone’ was recognized in the Best Global Music Performance category, and his single ‘Sittin’ On Top Of The World’ featuring 21 Savage earned a nomination for Best Melodic Rap Performance, marking him as the first Nigerian lead artist to be nominated beyond the global categories.
