The Ex-chairman Of The APC Declares His Withdrawal From Political Activities.

During his address at the book launch event titled ‘Progressive Governance, Showcasing The Achievements of His Excellency, Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State 2019 – 2023,’ which was written by Abdullahi Tanimu, Adamu, the erstwhile APC Chairman, made a significant announcement regarding his withdrawal from active participation in politics. Adamu shared insights into the factors influencing this decision, citing a growing discomfort and developing allergies to political engagements.

In addition to his personal revelation, Adamu took a moment to commend the author, Abdullahi Tanimu, for his meticulous efforts in delineating the commendable achievements of the incumbent governor. As the first civilian governor of the state, Adamu spoke highly of Governor Sule, asserting that not only did he consolidate on the accomplishments of his predecessors, but he also brought enhancements to various aspects of governance.

Emphasizing the significance of ongoing support for Governor Sule and his administration, Adamu urged stakeholders and residents of the state to continue providing their prayers and goodwill. He made it clear that, while he is retiring from politics, he remains an advocate for the continued success of the governor and his cabinet.

It’s noteworthy that Adamu had previously led the APC to victory in the 2023 presidential election, resulting in the emergence of Bola Tinubu as the winner. However, in a move that marked a significant shift, Adamu resigned from his position in July, paving the way for the current chairman, former Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.

Governor Sule, reciprocating the sentiments expressed during the event, praised the book’s author for acknowledging the developmental strides achieved under his leadership. Furthermore, he shared the government’s plans for infrastructural development, disclosing the intention to construct 15km roads in each of the 13 Local Government Areas (LGAs). Governor Sule also highlighted the government’s commitment to education by disclosing the payment of counterpart funding for 2023 to the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), with plans for the construction of over 140 schools under this arrangement in the near future.
