The Winner Of The AMVCA Best Short Film Category Receives N1 Million Prize From MTN Nigeria.

Filmmaker Kaghor Idhebor, whose film Broken Mask won Best Short Film/Online Video at the recent Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards, has been rewarded with a N1 million cash prize. MTN Nigeria, the sponsor of the category, recently presented Idhebor with a N1 million cheque, an MTN broadband router, and various other gifts.

Idhebor expressed his gratitude for the win saying, “Winning this award is a tremendous honour. Broken Mask is a project close to my heart, and I am thrilled that it has resonated with so many people. I thank my team, AMVCA organisers, and MTN for their support and for providing a platform that celebrates and uplifts African storytellers.”

The acclaimed short film was praised for its gripping narrative and outstanding performances, captivating both the audience and the jury with its powerful storytelling and remarkable visual execution.

The film explores the psychological effects of child molestation from a father’s viewpoint, inspired by Nigerian painter and sculptor Ben Enwonwu for the main character, portrayed by Richard.

This award is a major accomplishment for Idhebor and his team, highlighting their creative prowess in the film industry.
