Directed by Great Val Edochie, Last Straw tells the story of Morenike Lawson (Bimbo Ademoye), the daughter of Regina Lawson (Shaffy Bello), who owns a marketing empire.
Against her mother’s wishes, Morenike marries Laolu (Timini Egbuson), a horticulturist from a humble background.
Regina continues to express her disapproval of Laolu, who, despite loving his wife deeply, endures her mother’s harsh comments—until one day, he reaches his limit, and an argument breaks out.
Morenike is torn, not wanting to choose sides and upset either person. Her inability to take a stand leads Laolu to step away from the marriage.
As Laolu’s absence lingers, Morenike struggles to manage their household. After a confrontation with her mother, she realizes that both she and her mother have been unfair to Laolu. She firmly tells her mother to step back from their marriage, recognizing the damage that’s already been done.
Now, Morenike must find a way to reconcile with her husband and bring him back home.
