House parties are awesome. They are a way to catch up with friends, and also make more friends. Plus you save yourself the cost of expensive venues and you can have as much fun as you can with the bare minimum. You can tell your guest to bring their own food while you provide drinks. You can have many themes like medieval times or futuristic themes. But when you have these parties, you might want activities for your guest so everyone can have fun. Most times Nigerians results to the game of truth or dare, a game that has been squeezed dry by house parties all around the country. But it’s not the only game that can be played in a house party. Here are some games to keep your guest active whenever you are throwing a party.

Charades:

This game is played with two groups. This is a guessing game where a person will act out an idea, or a concept and the other members of their group tries to guess what the concept is at a given time There are charade apps or cards. But you can always make your own charade card. The concepts can be famous events, excerpt from famous movies, or shows, or even people.

Pictionary:

This game is also a word guessing game. It is like charades but instead of acting the answer, you draw it. The game is played with two groups also, and each group will be provided with a board, or drawing pad, whichever one is available, a marker or pen, and the pictionary cards. One person will go out, and try their best to draw an idea of what is on the card without drawing the exact thing and the other members of the group will try to correctly guess what the picture is supposed to be at a given time.

Never have I ever:

This is mostly used as a drinking game. Someone says never have I ever…… and if you have done any of them, you drink. This game in some way can be used as a way to get to know someone. You can get cards for this game or you can randomly ask questions.

Two truths and a lie

This game is mostly used as an icebreaker. You could have a situation where you have friends from two different parts of your life in the party and you as a mutual friend of the two groups want to get them more acquainted with each other. The game is basically as it’s name. Everyone sits at a circle, and they say two true things about themselves and one lie. Then everyone gets to guess which is the truth and which is the lie.

Concentration Concentration:

This is a game we all played as children. The game is simple game. A topic is chosen and the players are supposed to reply with elements that concern the topic. It could be names of cities or names of food or names of football player, or musicians depending on the audience.

Simon says:

Simon says is a very popular and easy game to play. The idea of the game is to do what Simon says only. The game requires a moderator to give Simon’s declarations while the rest of the group follows. If you don’t do as Simon says, you are out of the game. If you also do what Simon never asked you to do, you are also out of the game. So if Simon says raise up your hands, you do it. But if you are told to do the same action but it doesn’t come from Simon, don’t do it

Beer pong:

This is a drinking game played by two teams. Six or ten cups are placed in a triangular manner at the two edges of a table. Then a ping pong ball is thrown across the table with intent of the ball landing into one of the cups across the table. If the ball lands in a cup, the cup is consumed by the other team and the removed from the table. The group that eliminates all their opponents cups first is the winner
