Actress Toyin Abraham responds to critics who called her out for endorsing Tinubu

Toyin Abraham, a Nollywood actress and producer, has responded to comments from the public urging her to disclose the strategies President Bola Tinubu discussed with her during their meeting as a presidential candidate in the run-up to the 2023 elections.

Remember how the single mother supported the APC presidential candidate at the time of the general election in 2023 by posting photos of herself with Tinubu and Sanwo-olu with the tag “For the first time, I met the incoming president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and he shared some of his ideas visions and strategies to solve the challenges before us as a nation. Listening to him renewed my hope and reaffirmed why he is my choice.”

In a stunning turn of events, Toyin Abraham has declined to put up with the abuse directed at her by irate internet users on the status of the economy.

In response to questions from a social media user going by the moniker “Otunba” about her conversations with Tinubu in 2023, the actress denounced the constant harassment and troll attacks her family has been subjected to since the elections. She insisted that she backed Tinubu’s political ambitions since she had been assured of effective leadership.

Otunba questioned; “Maybe one day Toyin Abraham will divulge the plans Bola Tinubu shared with her to the public. I strongly believe we deserve to hear. Thank u #toyin_abraham1.”

Toyin Abraham, however, responded to Otunba’s request “Of course I was told n promised good governance n happiness for everyone and wish I believe. If things didn’t go well why do I have to be the one to suffer for it because I remember I voted goodluck and I was bullied but I didn’t put blame on anyone choose Buhari. So please why would they be cursing and trolling me every time.”

In response to a question about whether she thought the Tinubu-led government had failed the people, the well-known actress insisted that she had moved past politics and focused on her career.

Some online users went so far as to curse the actress, accusing her of being responsible for Nigeria’s current financial predicament.

Toyin Abraham voiced her disapproval of a troll who insulted her and included her son in her Yoruba-language response.

However, the actress was defended by a fan going by the name Momopee, who brought out the fact that other celebrities also supported Tinubu during the election campaign.

“What exactly did she do wrong? Other entertainers actively campaigned for their choice during the election. Why are they attacking Toyin? She needs to let these bullies know that their noise means nothing to her,” Momopee said.

In the meantime, Toyin Abraham was seen sobbing in a video that went viral online, pleading with people to refrain from posting images of her online and defaming her family just because she exercised her right to free speech.

She promised to go after everyone who had dragged her and said she would not take any more abuse or trolling.
