Written and directed by Jeymes Samuel, The Book of Clarence, is a biblical comedy-drama film released in 2023. The film was produced by Jeymes Samuel, Jay-Z, James Lassiter, and Tendo Nagenda.
Debuting at the 67th BFI London Film Festival on October 11, 2023, The Book of Clarence is set to hit theaters in the United States on January 12, 2024, through TriStar Pictures.
The recently released soundtrack of the movie features Nigerian music stars Adekunle Gold and Yemi Alade.
Adekunle Gold, the acclaimed singer and songwriter, is set to join forces with Doja Cat and Kodak Black in the song ‘Jeezu.’ Additionally, Yemi Alade, a multi-award-winning Hitmaker, collaborates with Jeymes Samuel in ‘Sacred Love.’
This is not the first time Nigerian artist have collaborated and featured in soundtrack albums of Hollywood movies.
Rema, CKay, Fireboy, Bloody Civilian, and Boy contributed to the soundtrack album of ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.’
In 2023, Wizkid, Omah Lay, and Ayra Starr were featured on the soundtrack album of Marvel’s ‘Spiderman: Across The Spider-Verse.’
This also brings to mind a list of Nigerian musicians who graced the Hollywood screens with their talents, Davido was a guest star in Coming to America 2, where he performed his hit song, Assurance, Sunny Ade’s lead role in the American drama film Breathless, and Yemi Alade in the musical film Black is King.
