Belle Shmurda Dedicates A Song To Late Friend, Mohbad.

Nigerians lost street hop sensation, Mohbad to the cold hands of death on September 12,2023. While investigation into the cause of his death is underway and suspects are being brought in for questioning, Belle Shmurda the artist’s close friend has honoured the artist in a new song titled Brother. The song was released yesterday, October 6,2023.

The song starts with a plea to God to bring back his friend, “Jah can you bring my brother back” . The song goes ahead to create a vivid picture of how they met at a studio, came to love each other and became friends. The song tells the story of their hustling days before fame, how they stood by each other through painful moments, holding each other down.

The Prechorus sings Mohbad’s praise as a guy with alluring charms and skills

“I get Pako wey get charisma

Carpenter wey get calibre

you be bad man wey get good mind

you be fine boy wey get plenty styles”

The chorus of the song is a lamentation by Belle, it shows his grief of loosing his friend so early in life, after all the tough times they had to pull through to get where they are now. He questions living as a whole, what’s the point of grinding so hard if one is going to end up six feet under the ground. He asks what he did wrong, where he went wrong to deserve losing his brother.

“Ah, my brother, my friend

Will this be the end?

What is the essence

for the hustle of life

What’s my offence?

What have I done?

Wetin I do?

You left me with tears,aje.”

The song ends with a crowd screaming Mohbad’s name.
