Benue State Education Quality Assurance Agency Orders The Reimbursement Of Overpaid Fees For 2024 WAEC/ NECO Examinations.

The Benue State Education Quality Assurance Agency (BSEQAA) has instructed school principals in the state to promptly reimburse SS3 students for any overpaid fees for WAEC/NECO handling charges.

Dr. Francis Terna, the Director-General of the agency, issued the directive during his Thursday visit to schools in Makurdi, the state capital, as reported by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN). Terna interacted with SS3 students in these schools to determine their payments for WAEC and NECO examination fees.

Upon verifying the details, he instructed principals to promptly refund any overpaid charges to the students and ensure compliance with the approved handling fee of ₦5000 per student. He cautioned against such unethical practices and warned of consequences for non-compliance with government directives, emphasizing the state’s dedication to maintaining high educational standards.

Additionally, Terna reiterated the government’s instruction to refrain from admitting SS3 students during the second term to prevent disruption of the academic calendar. NAN further reported that Dr. Terna also conducted inspections of form masters’ registers, schemes, records of work, and lesson plans during his visits to schools such as RCM Primary School in Tiosha, UBE Junior Secondary School on Naka Road, NKST Secondary School on Naka Road, and Mount Carmel College in Makurdi.
