Gubernatorial Elections Takes Place Today in Bayelsa, Imo and Kogi State.

According to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), 5,169,692 voters will determine the next governor in three states.

Incumbent governors Douye Diri and Hope Uzodimma in Imo and Bayelsa respectively seek re-elections, while Kogi’s governor, Yahaya Bello, oversees the election as an outgoing governor.

Kogi’s race centers on Usman Ododo (APC), Dino Melaye (PDP), and Muri Ajaka (SDP), with additional candidates representing various parties.

In Imo, Governor Uzodimma (APC) competes with 17 candidates, including Athan Achonu (Labour Party) and Samuel Anyanwu (Peoples Democratic Party), considered top contenders.

In Bayelsa State, the incumbent governor is competing against Timipre Sylva of the APC, Eradiri Udengmobofa of the Labour Party, and 13 other candidates.

INEC data reveals that in Bayelsa State, out of 1,056,862 registered voters, 1,017,613 collected their PVCs. In Imo, with 2,419,922 registered voters, 2,318,919 collected PVCs, leaving 101,003 uncollected. The fate of Kogi State’s governorship candidates depends on 1,833,160 voters who collected PVCs out of 1,932,654 registered voters.
