Nigerian musician Peruzzi, whose real name is Tobechukwu Victor Okoh, has threatened to file a lawsuit against a social media user who altered a screenshot of a purported tweet he posted, saying that Davido, the head of his record company, fired him over an alleged affair with his wife, Chioma.
On Wednesday, Peruzzi disowned the circulating altered screenshot, which purported to show him making an accusatory tweet about Davido. He later denied having sent it.
Following his refutation,the X(formerly known as Twitter) social media user who took credit for the altered screenshot, @belikebaddy, apologized to Peruzzi and Davido on Thursday and vowed never to do it again.
“I apologize for posting an edited tweet which involved @peruzzi and @davido. I take full responsibility for all my actions have caused, and I promise it’ll never happen again. My apologies to DMW Management,” he wrote.
However, Peruzzi declared he would still pursue legal action after reposting the apologetic tweet.
The singer wrote: “Yall retweet this, so he can have money for court.”
