Imo Governorship Election: Governor Hope Uzodimma Secures Second Tenure in Office.

The Imo State All Progressive Congress (APC) governorship candidate and the incumbent governor, Hope Uzodimma, has secured victory in his bid for reelection, maintaining his position as the governor of Imo State.

He swept all 27 Local Government Areas of the state, emerging victorious in the election held on Saturday, November 11, 2023.

The state Returning Officer for the election, Prof. Abayomi Fasina, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Oye, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, announced the results on Sunday morning after the final collation.

The incumbent governor, Hope Uzodimma, received 504,308 votes. His closest contender, Senator Samuel Anyanwu of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), garnered 71,503 votes, while Athan Achonu of the Labour Party (LP) secured 64,081 votes.

Governor Hope Uzodimma will be sworn in for his second term of office on January 14,2024.
