Hilda Baci’s Cook-a-thon: Young Nigerian Carves Her Name on The Guinness Book Of Records

27 year old Nigerian Chef Hilda Effiong Bassey popularly known as Hilda Baci recently broke the Guinness world record for “the longest cooking marathon by an individual.”

The competition kick-started on Thursday, 11 May 2023 at exactly 4pm to end Monday 15 May 2023 at 4 pm, Hilda has been cooking nonstop.
These are the rules
1) She is not permitted to cook while sitting.
2) She is prohibited to take any stimulants or energy drinks while cooking.
3)Every meal prepared will be recorded.
4)She is only entitled to 5mins rest per hour.
5) There is no restriction on the kind of meal to prepare as long as she does it within the time frame.

The previous record was set by Lata Tondon from India in 2019, Hilda Baci smashed Lata’s record of 87 hours 45mins this morning earning herself the title of “the longest cooking marathon by an individual”.

Her determination and resilience since Thursday have gained her nationwide support from Nigerians home and away, on social media and at the venue Amore Gardens, Lekki, Lagos state. Notable dignitaries that have shown support thus far include President-Elect Bola Tinubu, Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Labour party Presidential candidate Peter Obi and Former Minister for Education Oby Ezekwesili. Celebrities also turned up for Hilda, on this list we have Adesua Etomi, Banky W, Tiwa Savage, Timi Dakolo, Elozonam, Enioluwa and many others.
