“I plead with you to find solution to the plight of the masses.” Fuji Legend K1 De Ultimate To President Tinubu.

In the face of challenging economic conditions, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, the renowned Fuji legend, commonly referred to as K1 De Ultimate, has conveyed to President Bola Tinubu that Nigerians are enduring hardship and expressing discontent with his administration.

In a video that emerged on social media on Thursday, February 1, 2024, the Fuji icon expressed concerns about the state of the nation during one of his recent stage performances. Speaking in Yoruba, K1 De Ultimate called on Tinubu to address the numerous challenges facing the masses.

The Nigerian economy is currently facing unprecedented difficulties, largely attributed to the reforms initiated by the President. Notably, Tinubu abolished the fuel subsidy regime on his first day in office, leading to a sharp increase in pump prices from ₦180 to over ₦600. Additionally, as part of the government’s financial sector reforms, the naira has experienced a continuous decline against the dollar following the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) decision to float the currency towards market-determined interest rates.

This combination of fuel subsidy removal and currency devaluation has resulted in a surge in inflation, diminishing the purchasing power of citizens and pushing more people below the poverty line. This situation has prompted widespread outcry from many Nigerians, with K1 De Ultimate now adding his voice to the grievances. The Fuji megastar noted that Nigerians are suffering and urged the President to swiftly address the issues at hand.

“I plead with you to find a solution to the plight of the masses. The citizens are crying and wailing. We’re suffering amid a lack of adequate power supply. How did things get to this point? I implore you to fix these problems,” K1 sang in the video.

Addressing President Tinubu again, the musician asked him to listen to the complaints of the masses and treat such complaints with all seriousness.

“We know you to be a philanthropist, but we Nigerians are angry. The people of Nigeria are angry.”

“The traders in this country are not happy. Look at what the dollar has become“(a reference to the exchange rate), K1 said.

He also questioned the recent surge in kidnapping incidents and urged the President to address the issue urgently.

Meanwhile, K1 appealed to Nigerians to endure and demonstrate patience with Tinubu, reassuring them that this administration would tackle all the country’s challenges.
