Ishaya Bako, renowned Nollywood director and the film’s director, shared in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja that the documentary Up Nepa! delves into the ongoing challenges regarding electricity in Nigeria, including inconsistent power supply and its effects on people, businesses, and the economy.

Ishaya Bako mentioned that Griot Studios, a multimedia firm focused on creating and disseminating socially and culturally significant content, produced the acclaimed documentary.

The movie, which includes discussions with regular Nigerian producers and specialists in the power sector like Patrick Okigbo, Bart Nnaji, Rahila Thomas, and Alex Okoh, along with appearances by Kate Henshaw and M.I Abaga, examines thoroughly the obstacles in supplying consistent electricity to Nigeria’s growing population. It aims to simplify the complexities of electricity generation, transmission, and distribution in Nigeria for viewers.
