Madam Koi Koi Is Coming To Netflix.

Madam Koi-Koi is a ghost in Nigerian legend who haunts dormitories, hallways at night in boarding schools. She is known by the sound her ‘Koi-Koi’ shoe makes at night as she roams the school. This scary tale of a lady who walks in heels at night have been passed down from generation to generation in the Nigerian school system.

Nobody really knows how Madam Koi-Koi came about however a few tales have been told. One of them is that In Nigeria, there was a stylish teacher at a secondary school known for her beauty and red heels. She was called “Madam Koi Koi” because of the sound her heels made when she walked. However, she had a reputation for being cruel to students, even resorting to physical violence. She was fired after injuring a student. On her way home, she died in an accident, swearing revenge on the school and its students. Shortly after, students claimed to hear the “Koi Koi” sound in the dormitory hallways at night, similar to the clicking of heels, suggesting a ghostly presence.

In another tale, “Madam Koi Koi” was portrayed as a wicked teacher who frequently punished her students, even inflicting extreme pain. Fed up with the school’s inaction, the students took matters into their own hands, fatally assaulting her and making it look like a robbery. Strangely, all the students except one who hit her with a shoe disappeared, and he claimed to hear the sound of high heels at night, believing it was her seeking revenge. When he tried to investigate, he was killed. The school closed, and the legend of “Madam Koi Koi” haunting hostels, making people vanish, spread to new schools where the students were transferred.

In the spirit of Halloween, Netflix is set to release a horror tale titled THE ORIGIN: MADAM KOI-KOI on October 31st,2023.

The movie takes us back to what seems like the beginning and the roots of this boarding school tale.

Set between 1971 and 1991 it tells the story of a dark spirit who reawakens to seek vengeance.

Directed by Jituboh and co-produced by Jituboh and Michael W. Ndiomu, the cast includes Ireti Doyle who plays the school administrator, Chioma Akpotha as a catholic nun, Chukwuka Jude, Martha Ehinome, Nene Aliemeke, Tolulope Odebunmi, Omowunmi Dada, Ejiro Onojaife, Chuks Joseph, Kevin T. Solomon, Temidayo Akinboro, Iremide Adeoye and Racheal Emem Issac.
