Netflix has unveiled the trailer and premiere date for the eagerly awaited Nollywood movie, House of Ga’a, which is set to debut on the film streaming platform on 26 July, 2024.
House of Ga’a, set in the 18th-century Oyo Empire, tells the story of the formidable and feared Bashorun Gaa, who grew more powerful than the reigning kings. Drunk on power, he becomes a kingmaker, determining who ascends to the throne and who is deposed. The film delves into themes of power, betrayal, and the legacy Gaa left behind.
This historical film, depicting the life of the notorious Bashorun Ga’a, is directed and produced by Bolanle Austen-Peters, following her success with Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti.
House of Ga’a stars Femi Branch, Mike Afolarin, Funke Akindele, Toyin Abraham, Ibrahim Chatta, Dele Odule, Bimbo Manuel, Lateef Adedimeji, Femi Adebayo, Gabriel Afolayan, Jide Oyegbile, Seun Akindele, Yemi Blaq, Adeniyi Johnson, Muyiwa Ademola, Willam Benson, Gbenga Titiloye, and Kunle Coker.
