PDP Demands A Comprehensive Probe Into The Supreme Court Fire Incident.

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has called for a full investigation into the supreme court fire incident with the view of unfolding the circumstances behind the incident.

The party in a statement by Debo Ologunagba, the National Publicity Secretary in Abuja on Monday 25th September said the Incident is suspicious. He said the PDP was worried of the possibility that it could have been an arsonist attack with the intent of debilitating the supreme court from carrying out it’s duties efficiently. This according to him is especially with regard to the pending presidential election appeal.

“Our Party demands for an immediate full-scale investigation into the fire outbreak with the view to unraveling the circumstances or possible sabotage in the incident.

The PDP insists that the outcome of the investigation should be made public, unlike those of previous incidents in various government Ministries, Departments and Agencies which were characteristically swept under the carpet by the APC administrations, “ Ologunagba said.

However the Director of Press and Information of the Supreme Court, Dr Festus Akande had said the Incident did not affect the presidential election petition tribunal, he said what was destroyed were books, stationery and other computer gadgets, which can be replaced because they have an e-library.

Ologunagba called on the federal government to strengthen the security around the supreme court.
