Pepsi aims to solidify Afrobeats’ global prominence by collaborating with the music industry giant, EMPIRE, in the inaugural Pepsi Music Academy (PMA). This initiative seeks to enhance the growth of the Nigerian music industry.
This innovative partnership involves both giants organizing a summit tailored to provide comprehensive insights into the music business for 30 aspiring and emerging music talents.
Pepsi has played a leading role in promoting the worldwide recognition of Afrobeats, with several brand ambassadors achieving Grammy Award nominations and victories.
Nevertheless, the brand remains steadfast in its commitment to propel contemporary pop culture, infusing the rhythm into Afrobeat. This is achieved by harnessing the influence of Afrobeats music stars, offering distinctive experiences to consumers, and creating platforms for new talents to nurture the music ecosystem in Nigeria.
The academy aims to remove obstacles for participants by offering a platform where emerging artists can learn and display their talents alongside highly esteemed music industry experts. Renowned professionals, including mega producers like Masterkraft, SARZ, Blaisebeatz, P-Priime, and other influential figures, will serve as faculty members.
Moreover, the top three participants will have a unique chance to have their original LP albums produced by the mentioned renowned producers.
While this edition of the Pepsi Music Academy primarily emphasizes Music Artistry, it will also foster, support, and empower participants in various facets of the music industry, including A&R, legal matters, public relations, marketing, sound engineering, and more.
Upon the summit’s conclusion, three finalists from the academy will be awarded brand new SUVs, a two-year living allowance, the chance to become a Pepsi Influencer, a music video production sponsored by the brand, and a two-year recording deal with EMPIRE.
