Name a fruit that tastes as luxurious as a Mango.
I believe everyone loves Mangoes. At Least a good number of people do!
Mangoes are tropical fruits that are not only rich in colour and taste, but also very common to find during their season. There are different varieties of mangoes, but they all have something in common, and that’s their amazing health benefits. Mangoes are rich in vitamins, fibre, antioxidants and enzymes which are beneficial to the body. Mangoes can be incorporated into our everyday meals in a variety of ways. I think one of my favorites is making mango smoothies.
Mango smoothies are a refreshing and delightful way to savour the sweet and tangy flavour of ripe mangoes. They are a refreshing treat that can be enjoyed any time of the day. Made with ripe and juicy mangoes and other tasty ingredients, these smoothies are a perfect mix of sweet and creamy flavors that will satisfy your cravings. The sweetness of the mango also adds a natural smoothness to the drink, making it a healthier alternative to sugary drinks.
What’s in a Mango Smoothie?
One of the great things about mango smoothies is the versatility they offer. You can add different ingredients to create a range of flavors and textures. Some people prefer a simple recipe, combining only mangoes and milk, while others prefer to add yoghurt, honey or even walnuts and seeds to their smoothies.
Here’s how to make an easy mango smoothie with 4 ingredients:
First, let’s see what ingredients are needed to make our mango smoothie.
Fresh or frozen mangoes (seedless): I prefer fresh mangoes, but I recommend frozen ones if you don’t want to add ice to your smoothie.
Fresh or deep-frozen bananas: This will help add a fresh, creamy texture.
Milk: Either dairy or non-dairy milk can be used. This is optional
Yogurt: Greek yoghurt is the perfect option for a thicker, creamier smoothie. This can also be optional.
HOW TO MAKE YOUR MANGO SMOOTHIE
Like every other smoothie recipe,
- Prep your ingredients
- Toss them into a blender and blend until smooth and evenly blended. Easy Peasy right?
- Pour your well-blended smoothie into a glass and serve. You can add nuts or any toppings of your choice.
TIPS:
When making smoothies, the key to sweetening them up is using extra ripe fruit.
The fewer ingredients you use, the more flavors pop.
If you have a sweet tooth, you can add honey or any sweetener of your choice.
So, ladies and gentlemen, if you find yourself with an intense sweet-and-cold craving, especially on a hot and sun-scorching afternoon and you have mangoes lying around, instead of indulging in carbonated drinks or ice-cream (this is particularly directed at my gym girlies and boys) go ahead and make a sumptuous cup of mango smoothie.
Enjoy!
