The Nigeria S16 film festival is here again! The fourth edition of this annual film festival is to hold from December 5 to December 8, 2024.
The S16 film festival is a festival that showcases amazing and exceptional film makers and their film. The aim of the festival is to celebrate the beautiful art of film making and the brilliant creatives behind them.
The festival is scheduled to hold for 4 days and the event line up include short film screening, feature films and a panel sessions.
The upcoming edition of the S16 Film Festival was announced in an official statement by organisers on August 14, 2024.
“TECHNOLOGIC – THE S16 Film Festival returns for its Fourth Edition. Over four days, our community of film lovers will be treated to a series of wave cinema, an exhibition, panel conversations, and a themed party. Beginning on December 5-8 at Alliance Francais, Lagos.”
The S16 Film Festival was founded by filmmakers CJ Obasi, Abba T. Makama, and Michael Omonua. In 2021, the first edition was held, it saw the screening the 10 short films and one feature-length film, the anthological Juju Stories, directed by a trio of founders. In the second edition 14 films were screened, it comprised 10 short films and four feature-length films by directors from various African countries — Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, and Rwanda. The third edition, themed To God be the Glory, also screened unique African films, including Banel and Adama, a 2023 Senegalese romantic drama directed by Ramata-Toulaye Sy.
