The People Democratic Party (PDP) has approved the candidacy of 10 aspirants for the upcoming Edo governorship primary election on February 22nd.
PDP National Organising Secretary, Umar Bature, informed journalists on Tuesday in Abuja that the aspirants, including Philip Shaibu, Edo’s deputy governor, former Managing Director of Sterling Bank, Asue Ighodalo, former Rep. Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama, and ex-chairman of Esan West Local Government Area, Felix Akhabue, were granted the party’s Provisional Clearance Certificate at the PDP National headquarters in Abuja.
Other approved candidates are former Chairman of the Edo chapter of the All Progressives Congress, Anslem Ojezua, former Rep. Omosede Igbinedion, Arthur Esene, Prof. Martin Uhomoibhi; and Osaro Onaiwu. Bature mentioned that the 11th aspirant, Balogun Sunday, did not attend the screening.
The aspirants had been presented with the party’s Provisional Clearance Certificate at the PDP National headquarters in Abuja.
