Starring familiar faces Kehinde Bankole, Deyemi Okanlawon and Bisola Aiyeola, Sista is a beautiful movie about motherhood. Sista(Kehinde Bankole) got pregnant for Fola(Deyemi Okanlawon) when they were still teenagers. Having put Sista in the family way,they literally had to start a family with Sista bearing most of the financial burdens because Fola was still in the university. Two years later Sista got pregnant again, both of them were scared and confused, the pregnancy was unplanned but there wasn’t much they could do about it, the baby had come to stay. Fola however took the nearest escape route and abandoned Sista and their two kids after he left for youth service. Fast forward to years later fate allowed their paths to cross again. Sista is a story of a mother’s love and sacrifice, it is a movie that perfectly tells the tale of a million and one Nigerian mother’s who would go out of their way to give their children the very best at any cost. The movie is a 10/10 for me.
